Looking for a #5 firebox

Hi there, I'm in search of a #5 firebox. My grill is in decent shape but the firebox literally crumbled away in my hands when I attempted to remove in order to clean. If anyone has the hinged bands as well, that would really be ideal. Thanks for reading! - Jeremy

I havent taken mine out since i originally put it in back
in '01-i guess you see why, now.
When mine fails eventually i'm going with a wire basket
job like RJ was shilling back in the day.
Check with ur local welders or pitmakers for quotes

A suggestion for you...

My firebox in my #7 fell apart over a year ago. I took all the pieces out, arranged a few bricks standing on end in the bottom around the inside of the wall, and placed a Weber fire grate on top of those. Also, on the draft door tubes that protrude into the ash chamber I placed a small piece of half-thick brick just to keep hot ash from falling on them or out the door.

Doesn't look great, but it works wonderfully. Been cooking up a storm over the last year. It's even easier to clean out, going in from above.

For a #5, you might use the flat half-thickness bricks.

Good luck.

Whoa, Admin! I am utterly amazed to see your POSK still in operation. Thought for sure it would be a goner by now. I guess the fact that you had to humpty-dumpty it back together made it stronger than the average POSK Razz
