You DARE to ask for a refund?

From the alt.barbecue usenet: An amusing RJ email sent to a customer who cancelled his order after waiting several months and receiving no replies to his calls or emails. As usual, blame the consumer. Now THIS is customer service!

From: "Kamado Forum" <f...@kamado.com>
Subject: Charge Back
REPLY-TO: f...@kamado.com

***NOTE: DO NOT PRESS REPLY in your email program.... follow the directions below***

You have received a private message from the following discussion board user: Richardj

I just deleted your post. I do not have any emails from you.

I presume you are asking the office about your credit card payment for the Kamado you refused.

Please be advised that we received a CHARGE BACK and your funds were
returned.

Note: Not only did we fill your order, export it, held in storage for
months, paid the credit charges, then the charge back for a product you
purchased at wholesale.

As a favor to me, please do not post on our forum, nor write me about
anything.

Sincerely,

Richard

To provide some context, here is the original post from the person who was victimized by Kamado:

Quote:
Ordered a #5 in February
billed in 2 parts over the next 2 months
after 3 months and a stupid excuse why mine was on hold I cancelled
order
they have refused to refund me and all calls/emails are ignored.
I guess I have to call this a fraudulent transaction and try to get my
credit card bank to do something about it.

I'm sure there are many Kamado believers out there but this is my
experience and this is no fiction. It appears that the many complaints
about them are true.

And here is the end of the poster's nightmare:

Quote:
Update, I was able to get my refund, the credit card bank had to
process it and it took a little while.

I was also able to get an email from Richard, but I had to post a
message on the Kamado forum to get his attention, naturally he deleted
that post:

He claimed that they held my unit for months, yet they know my email
address and telephone which they used to contact me to get my credit
info.

He also claimed he has no emails from me, yet subsequent to this he was
able to exchange emails with me. He even asked that I not post anything
on his forums.

I want to believe that they are simply in a tight financial situation
hence their long delays etc coupled with their bad customer service
which translates into very bad business which will pisses customers
off.

The moral of the story is DO NOT BUY anything based on folk lore found
on websites, bbq forums etc. Whilst the folklore may be true, the customer service and credibility of the company may be less than ideal and unlikely to be verifiable on a website of forum.

Needless to say, we would all correct this poster to say that you must not buy anything based on what you read in the Kamado forum since it is heavily censored.

Actually, I would refine that statement even further and just say don't buy anything from Kamado company period!!
