From the pics I see you Kook a LOT. From the same pics I can see you had not cleaned the threads in a while.......bad bad boy!

Keep your K Klean!!!! I remove the "hat" at least once every 3 months. Wire brush and olive oil have keep the threads working good since 2004. What an amazing Kooker, yet like all amazing machines, it needs a lil TLC up front, or pay with broken part later.

Yep, all devices sometimes need some loving care, but when such a serious problem has been evident FOR YEARS, and when competitors have solved the problem YEARS AGO, you'd think the fanboys wouldn't jump to RJ's defense. Amazing.....
