I received a text message from my daughter about a Kamado being on the Today show this morning. Upon reviewing the clip online, the schmuck was cooking on one of those knock off Kamodo Kamados.

It's FUGLY, too.

Richard may not want to come out and say it, so I will. (I'm not an employee of Kamado or anything. I just hate seeing a company that was hired to make a product ripoff the friends of mine that hired them.)

If you found this site, you found the home of the real Kamado made by the original inventor.

That knockoff is just that...a knock off. You can buy a NOKLA phone at the swap meet, but that doesn't mean you bought NOKIA quality!

Hahaha.

It's taken me a long time to realize that evidence just doesn't matter to some people.

There are people that still believe the moon landings were fake and that the earth is flat. Shouldn't surprise us that there's at least one person out there that believes in the Johnsons and their product.

Fortunately, this fraud forum should steer away most of his potential victims. And, if prospective buyers are too stupid to do some basic research and see which companies and products are reputable... then they'll get what they deserve.

Kind of hilarious that he is calling one of the most renowned BBQ chefs, who is so famous he is on the Today Show, a schmuck. That should tell you how reputable lasergecko is.

And if he thinks a KOmodo is fugly then I don't know what you would call a KAmado. Especially when all the tiles fall off it.

Wonder just how much money the laser has lost in stock in Kamado.

I would hardly call BBQ Champion Chris Lilly a schmuck.

Perhaps you're misinformed.

Wow, laser, do you feel threatened? Your comment about the KK being fugly is valid, as it's your opinion. However, the myriad design changes, and dare I say, improvements? of the KK over the "real" Kamado made by the original inventor, make the KK a totally different product, not a knockoff.

And, if you think that Chris Lilly is a schmuck because he uses a product that you don't like, then you're not just misinformed, you're a tool.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

Wow Laser Geeko,
You seriously got your panties in a knot! How is 10x BBQ World Champ Chris Lilly a schmuck? I think you should do your homework before you run off at the mouth.
If you have been reading Richard's newsletters you know that the trend the last few years is Kamado knocking off Komodo. Just to mention a few obvious ones would be Richard's publicly announced change to refractory materials "purchased from the largest and best refractory company in the world." which is Harbinson Walker the company which Komodo uses. It's well known Richard hired fired Komodo workers and obviously learned what they were using.
Richard is now proudly building Kamados "double faced" sound familiar? Komodos have been two layered from day one. Let's not forget how the new Kamado damper top threads are stainless just like Komodo has always been..
Maybe original but that means nothing.. Richard's original BBQ looks exactly like a BGE.

Mercedes might not be the original commercial car builder but they still are much higher quality than Fords..

Come on Laser Geeko really, who's your schmuck?

Nice to see Chris Lilly getting some support.

GUIDELINES AND RULES

1. Topics: Limited to using Kamado cookers, and barbeque style cooking in general. Specific topics outside these bounds may be acceptable at the discretion of the forum Administrator, Manager, and/or Moderators.

2. Civility and Courtesy: All members, by their participation, agree to maintain high levels of civility and courtesy toward other members. Understanding that "Civility and Courtesy" mean different things to different people, members agree to accept the standards exemplified by the editing, locking, and/or deletion actions of the forum Administrator, Manager, and/or Moderators.

3. Forum Administrator, Manager and Moderator actions: Those who own and/or are charged with running this forum will strive at all times to be as consistent in their decisions as possible. Members by their participation acknowledge that the actions of those charged with running this forum are undertaken with an objective desire, but a subjective eye, and agree to accept these decisions as final. Also, sometimes a violation will not be noticed, despite the best efforts of the Moderators. This does not mean they "let" it happen.

4. Threads get moved. If it's no longer there, it's probably somewhere else. Find it. The current thread volume does not permit for detailed offline explanations as to why your inquiry about "who was on that black Cruiser last Saturday" actually belongs in the On The Road forum.

5. Justification: First, this site is maintained/managed/moderated by selected VOLUNTEERS in their spare time. The total dollar value of their time commitment to this site runs into the six figures, for which you are not required to pay one single cent in order to enjoy this community. Second, explanation for editing or deletion of any post, or the closing or deletion of any thread, may be requested off-line. Such justification is not guaranteed to the inquirer. However, if offered it is as a courtesy, for educational purposes, and/or to ensure that whatever the cause will not be repeated. No further off-line discussion or contact will be entertained. Online topics related to forum Administrator, Manager and Moderator actions, are not allowed except in the forum Issues and Support forum, and are subject to the same civility and courtesy rules as all other discussions.

6. Revocation: A member's posting privileges may be revoked at any time, for any period of time, including permanently. Re-registering under a different screen name during an active revocation period is grounds for immediate and permanent banishment from the forum. Anyone reinstated after a period of revocation will need to use a new screen name and their number of posts will begin again at zero.

7. By their participation, all members fully accept that this is a privately owned website and that no member has any rights to do anything on this site apart from those privileges the website's ownership and management bestow on a revocable basis. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages.

8. Humor: Members, the forum Administrator, Manager and Moderators all acknowledge by their participation that this is a very subjective call. By its very nature, humor is usually at the expense of a person, group or entity. Thus, self-deprecating humor stands the best chance of acceptance. Inflammatory humor (whether or not the victim feels flamed), racist and/or sexist humor will not be tolerated. Off-color humor is strongly discouraged.

9. Language: Foul language will not be tolerated. Generous use of asterisks, or the commonly used euphemisms found above the number line on most keyboards (i.e. !@#0^&*), may be allowed. You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violate any law.

10. Misc: No member may have more than one screen name. All members must list a valid e-mail address so that forum administration may contact them as needed. For more info see the forum FAQ.

11: Members of the forum community may not claim to represent the community in order to negotiate group discounts, bulk purchase agreements or other such activities that might permit direct profit to a member or group of members.

12: Other Inappropriate Use: Advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on this forum and will not be tolerated.

I have cooked next to Chris Lilly and his Big Bob Gibson's competition team (we even beat him in Pork!). He is first class all the way, in my opinion.

I have purchased his new book that was just released yesterday, although Amazon hasn't felt the need to get it into my hands yet. I really look forward to reading the book and trying out some of Chris' ideas.

Interesting that RJ just posted the rules and deleted a post that exposed him for what he is. He didn't comment on how he invented BBQ and ceramic and the entire Japanese language. He didnt' take the opportunity to jump in and lie about Komodo Kamado like he has done in the past.

It is also pathetic the way Lasergecko doesn't even know the story, let alone put his fanboy spin on it. I wonder if Lasergecko has ever visited here.

I'm kjed on the Kamado forum. I just tried to log in this morning, to see if the thread has continued, and I have been banned. I guess RJ has decided I'm too much of a rabble-rouser...4 posts since 2002!

That's a badge of honor around here. Tough to have any fraud forum cred without it.

Welcome to the family!

Ain't it grand? I think we should all travel to Richard's house one day (all of us at the same time) and have a little chat -- for old time's sake, of course. Smile

Any pictures? What kind of house is it? Does he own it? Condo, townhouse? It sounds like a gated community. The reason that I am asking is I would like to know how he's living on other peoples money.
