Paradux is a "she". Maybe she'll be sending Guido over to take of some business.

Yes, paradux is a "she". And I don't appreciate the snarky New Jersey references. You've been watching too many episodes of The Sopranos, get a grip.

Paradux, I really hope you get your firebox. What did you mean then by saying " I will be in touch" ? I think Admin was just pointing out that it sounded like you were threatening rj. Whether or not it may have worked. Wink

We'll know today

Amazingly enough, the latest tracking number sent to me yesterday appears to be legit, and UPS claims that it's already out on the truck to be delivered today. It would appear that *something* has shipped from Kamado (5/25) and they forgot to notify me until yesterday (6/1).

I have a bit of an advantage over others who are waiting for items, as I put mine on a charge card rather than sending a check. I can always dispute the charges. When the package arrives, I will post on the Kamado web site.

p.s. I said I would be in touch... I didn't say with whom - or how.

So this means they are back to letting people charge things?

Excellent news. You're lucky to have been able to charge it; they've been telling most people they don't accept credit cards anymore. But it's one of the few things that can give you some leverage.

Firebox is here

All,

The firebox arrived and after 15 minutes or so of cleaning it up it looks dandy! And incredibly sturdy!

(Don't know anything about stainless steel manufacturing & welding, but assume it is a dirty process - I don't mind doing the cleanup as long as I have the firebox!)

As far as the credit card, there is no way I will do business on the internet otherwise.

I know this has gone waaaay off topic for K3 questions, but guess what - the rod firebox arrived late this morning. I went out to meet the truck and heard the driver rummaging around the back. At first he could not find the item and thought it might have been loaded on the wrong truck. When I started to go back indoors I heard, "Here it is!!!" ...
Sure looks like one very sturdy contraption! --Liz

Congrats to Paradux!

Halelujah!

Why couldn't they have just done this in the first place? It goes to show that they aren't too busy to send ordered parts. It might not be a bad idea to cancel the credit charges and give them a taste of their own medicine. Wink

Just glad you didn't have to send Greedo.

I wonder if anyone has had to clean any stainless steel parts they have received from any other manufacturer. It will be interesting to see if this new firebox rusts like RJ's bands do.
