Obligatory "Howdy" Post: Still Lucky after all the

Hey Gang-

I decided to come hang out with all the Kool Kids(heh)
I sure see a *lot* of familiar handles here, both from K and KK forums(fori?)(fora??) Figgered I'd quit lurking and tell MY tale of 'whoaaaaa'

I just moved my poor old POSK 5 to its 3rd new home. Had literal nightmares about strapping it on an appliance dolly, wheeling it thru 3" standing muck, over a serious embankment and downhill into the U-Haul. Once unloaded, downhill again, plowin up 25' of pretty steep grassy grade.

Gods were smiling-we both survived-even though we both are a bit more elderly than we used to was. Hooray for not falling down! Huzzah for not crumbling into little bitty pieces!!

I've been VERY lucky with my 2001 Xmas special. It has survived overzealous Customs Agents with Sawzalls, a bumpy cross country drive, more lost tiles (too close of a proximity to a housefire in '04),two separate hurricanes and (last...least)being chronically ignored by numerous Johnsons throughout these years.

I guess since it was fabbed in Indonesia back in 'Happier Days' and/or the heavens have smiled on its poor little eggy self, it has held together for me without (knock on cinder-doped-portland) leaks, excess cracks, or worse. Still is sporting the original gasket, the original tiles missing from around the dome top, the original thermometer hole that *I* had to drill MYSELF, the original extra bottom bracket, the original firebox is still intact and also the original extra set of detachable bands I finagled midst lots of original yelling.

Please dont be hatin'-I aim to do penance for my time as a Fanboy.
I gots to get a few more cooks outta it while I roll pennies for my new KK.

So to wrap up:
Hi!

d*b(braving the blowback)

Hey, many of us have been there too, it just takes some longer to see the light or to throw in the towel. So welcome, and hopefully you do get a few more cooks out of your POSK. We don't wish ill will on anyone except for people who lie and deceive.
