Until you purchase a lot of tiles you probably can't appreciate the value of a tiled Kamado. I am in the process of a major retile job that was interrupted by a dual hernia surgery. If I purchased all the tiles on my Kamado in the after market it would be close to the price of the Kamado itself fully tiled. Retiling has been a bigger job than I anticipated. I hope it lasts for a while this time. I will be traveling to Denver for the Great American Beer Fest where my wife, Mary Anne and I will be working the event. When we return at the end of the month on our return trip which will bring us home around the 23rd of September, I will resume tiling. This isn't the prettiest of tile jobs, but is a learning experience.

Er, Bix. Why isn't this covered by Kamado's "lifetime"warranty? Why are going through all this grief and expense?

Poor Bix, one of the Kamado family's favorite people. He even has pics of him and his family visiting one of the traveling Gypsy Kamado construction sites.

If Bix doesn't get the warranty, then who does Wink

A good tile job could serve as a truss and hold the K's innards in.
