KamadoEurope: Warranty by Committee??? |
|
|
|
Nothing fraudulent here, but Jeepers that's one big warranty and Jeez that's a lot disclaimers:
http://www.kamadoeurope.com/en/Service_Info.html#SI_Warranty
591 words according to my word processing program!
Seems tile loss, fragments, cracks etc are natural phenomena 'cause tile, grout, and mortar are natural products.
Natural phenomena are not covered by the warranty.
Might as well just call it erosion. Hence forth, I'm going to use that term... disintegrating kamados are merely eroded. As with the mightiest of mountains, all kamados eventually return to the sea.
Just a bit quicker....and with a sidetrip to the local landfill.
"Kamado warrants that the Kamado BBQ Grill's base and dome, in their original manufactured condition and when used with normal charcoal and barbecue fuels, to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the Grill."
Seems the damper, stand, and all metalwork are not covered.
So exactly what would constitute a defect in material or workmanship?
Failure to install chicken wire?
Failure to add water to the cement mixture?
Failure to turn the kiln onto whatever temp it is in Mexico that day???
Anybody?
"...Claims must also be filed within the warranty coverage period..."
Thought this was a lifetime warranty?
