I bought an old #4

The other day I picked up an old #4. It has the ears and the volcano picture with the Sakura (cherry) Kamado inscription in Japanese. Tan and light green and weathered. It's in really good shape having only one hairline crack. I will post pictures when I figure out why I can't upload to my computer anymore.

I need a few parts for it. It has the original top but I would like a daisy wheel. I am not really sure if I will need the sliding draft door. The original plug is kinda cool looking. I also need a gasket, Temperature gauge and lower bracket. I think it's the same size as a large BGE but I am not positive. Other than the gasket I don't mind used stuff if anyone has extra parts to sell. But gasket suggestions would be welcome. Let me know, Thanks.

Gasket Material

I have Cotronics gaskets on 2 of my BGE.
Cook pizza's at 900 deg. on a regular basis without any problems.
When I bought they had 50' rolls but now they are 100'.
Do not get the adeshive backed, it won't hold. You need to attach with RTV type adeshive that will withstand high temps 600 deg. or so.
I used either the 395-81 or the 397-81 and it is still in service after 3 years of use.
Rutland has a fiberglass woven gasket as well, which you could get at Home Depot or Menards. But I dont like the thought of fiberglas in my food if it breaks up. Use RTV as well.

Thanks Glad.........

That stuff looks like quality. I like the idea of a one time replacement. If it lasts a few years it's well worth it to buy a roll. Thanks for the tip I plan to order soon.

Woven Ceramic

If you go with the Cotronics, that will be the only ceramic material on or in the entire grill. Laughing
